As Resettlement Specialist, was responsible for assisting Bihar State Road Construction Department (RCD) in preparation of state roads projects to improve key state road sections for possible financing by ADB; undertaking involuntary resettlement studies and prepare resettlement plans and resettlement framework to address resettlement issues of the projects; provide guidance and training workshops to RCD on ADB’s policy and procedural requirements; and identifying requirements for additional capacity building in project preparatory works.

As Resettlement Specialist, responsible for preparation of Resettlement Plans and Poverty and Social Analysis as part of project design; supervision of Resettlement Plan implementation; monitoring and reporting on the implementation of the Resettlement Plan in accordance with the ADB’s policy on Involuntary Resettlement; monitoring the status of the contractor’s compliance with social safeguard issues like HIV/AIDS provision in the civil works contracts; designing PPMS and undertake project performance monitoring and evaluation of the project in accordance with ADB’s Policy.

As Team Leader for the project was responsible to assist mainstream effective management of environmental and social issues into the design of the proposed project activities; identifying the key environmental and social issues related to the proposed activities under the project and the consideration of both mechanisms to enhance positive environmental and social benefits as well as minimize and mitigate any adverse impacts of the proposed project; developing a framework to assess the social and environmental impacts of the proposed project; develop measures to mitigate negative impacts and enhance positive impacts; consult with a variety of stakeholders; and examine the legal, policy and institutional aspects to ensure adequate and effective stakeholder participation in the project activities.

As Deputy Teal Leader for the project, responsible for situational assessment of all cremation grounds within the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi; preparation of Situational Analysis Report; preparation of Master Plan for reform/ improvement of cremation grounds; and implementation of pilot projects to be identified under the Master Planning.
